The awareness campaign “Stories from our village” involves public schools and libraries from all the Lebanese regions. Students of sixth, seventh and eighth grades, directors and counselors of elementary schools are all participating in this campaign through competitions and workshops carried out in public schools and libraries. This campaign aims to raise awareness of the new generations about the importance of the development of rural areas, as well as it highlights the role of women in development and rural family, in addition to the promotion of questions concerning gender equality and maintenance of the heritage and traditions.

This campaign is implemented by the National Observatory for Women in Agriculture and Rural Areas – NOWARA – and the Italian NGO CTM Onlus, in partnership with the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, executed by Les Amis des Marionnettes, and co-funded by the Italian Development Cooperation.
